Explaining that the loss of his sister has prevented him from communicating regarding Sir Tristrem until now; enclosing "the passage" for his review; explaining why he's only had "a glance of The Specimens" that Heber had entrusted to Thompson; discussing Leyden's possible relocation to India and asking him to indicate his support; mentioning that Heber "comes northward soon" and suggesting that he accompany him "to the Land of Cakes" where he will introduce them "personally to the Catrail."
